Alexsis Rodgers for Richmond Mayor Raises $35k from 484 Donors in First 24 Hours of Campaign
RICHMOND, Va. - Today, Alexsis Rodgers announced that in the first 24 hours of her candidacy for Richmond Mayor, her campaign raised $35,038 from 484 individual donors.
“I’m humbled and in awe of the support from grassroots donors throughout Richmond and the Commonwealth,” said Rodgers. “Collective power comes from the people, and I’m honored to be on the side of the people fighting for policies, not apologies, from City Hall.”
Rodgers is running an urgent, proactive and progressive campaign driven by community-centered engagement. As an organizer and policy director, Rodgers brings more than a decade of political experience and wins to the city of Richmond.

Alexsis Rodgers is a civic leader, organizer, policy director and champion for proactive and progressive leadership. She currently is the Virginia state director for Care in Action, the policy and advocacy home for two million women domestic workers, and is the former president of the Virginia Young Democrats. For the past eight years, Alexsis has been on the front lines advocating for economic security, voting rights, college affordability and quality health care; playing a key role in achieving Medicaid expansion and increasing birth control access during her time at Planned Parenthood in Richmond.
